Superior Materials, Inc. is the distributor for these well-known manufacturers (alphabetized):
Titanium Dioxide of Kronos: State-of-the-art
rutile and anatase grades; both chloride and sulfate process. Available from
Kronos distribution centers in New Jersey, Louisiana, and Quebec, and in full
Truckload or LTL quantities from our warehouses. Grades used in Coatings, Inks,
Plastics, Adhesives and Rubber industries.
Thickeners of Akzo Nobel: Bermocoll
cellulose thickeners for water-based systems and construction products.
Standard, enhanced-biostable, and hydropobically modified (associative)
cellulosic thickeners. Bermocoll EHEC is available in a range of viscosity
grades. The EBS grades are enhanced biostable to resist enzyme attack. The
EHM grades are hydrophobically modified and combine the performance of a low
viscosity EHEC with the rheological properties of synthetic associative
thickeners.
Bermocoll EHEC and MEHEC are also used in a range of construction products, including tile adhesive, plaster, and joint filler.
Bermodol PUR products are polyurethane-based associative thickeners are available with a range of hydrophobic associations (efficiencies), and include three solvent-free grades.
Inorganic Pigment Colors of BASF: Complex Inorganic Colors (mixed Metal Oxides); Ceramic Pigments. BASF Synergy™ Pigments (co-precipitates of organic and CICP technologies offering lightfastness and solvent resistance in a range of color spaces.). Sicotrans® transparent iron oxides.
Pigment Dispersions of BASF: Aurasperse® universal color dispersions; Auracryl industrial color dispersions; Gallery One and Pro-Line trade sales color dispersions including small packaging. Luconyl®, Omnicryl® and Pigmosol® dispersions. Xfast® water-dispersible dry pigment preparations.
BASF Pearl: A complete range of titanium dioxide and iron oxide coated micas, flip flop colors, exterior durability, new brilliant colors for all ranges of product lines. Suitable for coatings, inks, plastics, cosmetics, etc.
Hydrous ASP Kaolin Clays of BASF:
Water-washed and processed to different particle sizes and oil
absorptions. Some are surface-treated. They are non-abrasive with good suspending
properties and high brightness. Air float clays.
Calcined Kaolin Clays of BASF: Widely used to extend TiO2. Surface-treated grades for plastics, rubber, and coatings.
Calcined Attapulgite Clays of BASF: Powders or granules. Used for absorption, purification and anti-caking. Also floor absorbent grades.
Calcium Carbonates of
Imerys (formerly ECC International): Wide selection of natural white fillers of low
binder demand and low cost. Some are surface-treated.
Fumed and Precipitated Silicas of
Degussa Corp: Multifunctional for thickening, anti-caking and free-flow
of powders, flatting of varnishes and coatings. Appropriate for use in food,
cosmetics, and pharmaceutical applications. Aerosil®
Fumed Silicas from the Sivento Group; Precipitated Silicas from the Advanced
Fillers and Pigments Group.
Carbon Black
of Degussa Corp: Specialty blacks for plastics, rubber, paint and
coatings from the Advanced Fillers and Pigments Group.
Gilsonite
of American Gilsonite Company: A low-cost natural black hydrocarbon
resin, soluble in petroleum solvents. Films are hard and glossy and resist
acids, alkali and water. Non-toxic. ER RESINS for replacing more
expensive resins in printing inks.
Cellulose Fibers
of Interfibe Corp.: Used in asbestos-replacement systems
in roof-coatings and brakes. Used as thixotropes and thickeners in
coatings and adhesives. Used as processing aids in belts and brake
pads. White and gray grades of different fiber length.
Alkyd Resins of OPC Polymers: Alkyds
for use in architectural, commercial, and industrial applications. Long, medium,
and short oil alkyds; chain-stopped alkyds; polyurethanes; VT alkyds; rosin and
phenolic modified alkyds; epoxy esters; compliant high-solids and
water-reducible resins. New: Sytrene-acrylic latex resins.
Soya Lecithin of
Superior Materials: oil and water grades. Used to improve
pigment dispersion (especially for carbon black, iron oxides and organic
pigments) without causing foam. Useful for improving flow properties in
coatings and inks. A natural, inexpensive product with greater
efficiency than many synthetic wetting agents.
Additives of Borchers/OMG: Additives for Coatings, Paints, Printing Inks and Adhesives, including Rheological Additives, Defoamers, Flow and Leveling Agents, Wetting and Dispersing Agents, Catalysts, and Anti-Oxidants.
Borchi® Gel associative and non-associative thickeners
Borchi® Gen wetting and dispersing agents
Baysilone® silicone additives (leveling, slip and substrate wetting)
Borchi® Kat catalysts
Borchi® Nox antioxidants
Moisture scavengers, adhesion promoters, anti-blocking agents and zinc oxides
Coatings Additives of
Raybo Chemical: Solve paint and ink problems: sagging, floating
silking, wetting, pinholes, dispersion, cratering, fisheyes, settling, leveling
and corrosion.
Metallic Stearates, including
a calcium stearate dispersion in water.
Computer Software: RPM software
system for process manufacturers. Accounting for manufacturing and
inventory control, laboratory and MSDS functions, invoicing and purchasing.
